The Great Plains Family YMCA is a membership organization open to all people. The YMCA welcomes women and men, girls and boys of all ages, races, ethnicities, religions, abilities and financial circumstances.  Programs and branches embrace diversity, reflecting the needs and composition of the communities they serve.

Membership

YMCA Membership allows unlimited use of the facility and provides  no-cost or reduced fees on specialty classes and programs. You can visit as often as you like, participate in the group classes, use the facilities and equipment, and pay one low monthly or annual fee. Your satisfaction is guaranteed and there are no contracts to sign.  Membership rates include a one-time joining fee.

How to Join

Visit the YMCA to become a member today.  The friendly and trained Y staff at the front desk will help you join.  Upon becoming a member, you will receive a free orientation of the fitness equipment  (must be scheduled at a mutually agreeable time between you and Y staff member).

At the time of membership enrollment, a joining fee is due along with the first month’s payment.  If you join in the middle of the month, then your monthly rate will be prorated for the remainder of the month.  If you cancel your membership at any time and then rejoin at a later date, you must pay the joining fee and first month’s payment again.

Bank Draft Agreement

The Great Plains Family YMCA is a membership organization committed to helping its members achieve their fullest God given potential.  Our Y only offers annual memberships. You are committing to a 12-month membership. We have outlined below the details of our monthly payment policy.

By completing a Bank Authorization card, you are authorizing your banking institution to charge your account and pay to the order of the Great Plains Family YMCA of Weatherford, Oklahoma. We will prorate your first month’s dues from the opening date to the end of the month.

This monthly membership payment plan is a continuous system until written notification is made to the YMCA office of your desire to cancel the membership.

Electronic Transfer

Your checking account is debited on the first of  each month. A 15 day notice of cancellation is required in writing.

Annual Payment

Dues must be paid in full along with the joining fee.

Financial Assistance

Our policy is never to turn anybody away for inability to pay.  Each year we raise funds to support youth and families that need assistance in childcare, camps and other programs.

Other Information

A.W.A.Y.

The Great Plains Family YMCA participates in the AWAY program. A.W.A.Y. means "Always Welcome at YMCAs."

Great Plains Family YMCA Members: The AWAY designation on the back of your membership tag entitles you to visit participating YMCAs in other cities when you are traveling. You will be able to continue your workout at other YMCAs at no fee or for a minimal fee. Now you can travel without leaving the YMCA behind.

Other Y Members: As a member of another YMCA, you may visit the Great Plains Family YMCA in Weatherford, Oklahoma, up to 5 times a year.

Facility Policies

The YMCA is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. Lost and found items are kept at the front desk.

The YMCA is a membership organization. Photo ID with proof of age is required for membership.

No child under the age of 11 may be left at the YMCA unattended. Your child’s safety is our top priority. All members 10 and under must be in an organized activity, or with a parent. The YMCA offers child care programs for children if your child needs to stay all day.  

Children (14-15) must be accompanied by a parent when using the Fitness Centers and must have completed the Great Plains Family YMCA Fitness Orientation with our fitness staff. Use of the cardiovascular equipment is reserved for members 16 years of age and older.

Locker Rentals

Lockers are available for use by YMCA members on a monthly, semi-annual or annual basis (per semester for college students).  Members wishing to rent a locker should inquire about availability at the YMCA front desk.

Refunds, Credits and Cancellations

Members may secure a membership refund only when they are moving to a new community with no YMCA. There shall be a prorate refund (rounded to the nearest month), less one month’s cost held for administrative purposes. A transferring member contacts the YMCA in the new community and requests that his membership be transferred.

The YMCA has a cancellation policy that requires a 15-day notice. If the 15-day notice is not received before the first of the month, a $15 fee will be charged.
